Almost every other EMR that I've used allows users to customize a list of favorite prescriptions to access quickly. This is a huge timesaver for those of us who write a lot of prescriptions every day. The only shortcut that Amazing Charts currently has is that recently written prescriptions are saved in Windows Registry of the computer that is being used. Adding the ability to create a list of "favorite" prescriptions for each user would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone heard whether or not the prescription writer will be updated for Version 5? Setting favorite prescriptions should be a pretty easy fix for Jon and his team.

Sounds like a good idea. You should send AC a message via the "Suggetions" section in AC. I think thats what its called. Im at home now and cant pull it up.

I had actually emailed Jon about this last year. I guess either he doesn't feel that favorites are a useful addition to the letter writer or else his team have been too busy adding in the CCHIT-mandated "features" to get around to updating the prescription writer. I suspect the latter. Since last year it was looking like Jon pretty much had to play along with CCHIT (a completely useless certifying organization created by Big Boy EMR vendors with the not-so-hidden agenda of squeezing out smaller vendors like Amazing Charts) no one can fault him for putting all of his energy into achieving the dubious "honor" of CCHIT certification. Unfortunately, now that the coding for CCHIT is over with it appears that coding the Practice Management Software for Amazing Charts will take over as the latest distraction, resulting in less resources being allocated to upgrading the core EMR functionality. And so it goes...
