The PCP is the bottom feeder that everyone else dumps on and expects to pick up the pieces.
Hospital records are hard to come by (even though the discharge order was to "follow up in 2 days with your PCP" and often useless when they do arrive.
One of so many reasons I am retiring -- the practice of medicine is a broken and gutted body, picked apart by vulture capitalists.
