I agree, the Cloud is a breeze, especially the upgrades!!!
Yes the scanning does take longer but still tolerable.
If you do go with the VNC viewer for Chrome, I highly recommend the Enterprise version. I use it only at the office behind the office firewall (intranet). And then change out chromebooks every year or two, and the chromebook gets the most use, banging around and easy and cheap to replace with this type of set up.
I just recently got a new SSD computer in my office with the dual monitored set up. So much cheaper than a server with a bunch of desktops everywhere to manage and upkeep.
I have an old laptop that I use on vacation or at home, and I got to try out the mifi verizon jetpack that allows up to 15 devices on vacation. Most places have 4g access and being in the Cloud made signing in and working quite easy.
