Let me clarify my post. I completely agree with Sandeep. I have a rather large monitor with a high pixel density AND I like very small icons. I hate large fuzzy icons.
If you take anything from my post, it is that you can start at 1440 (which will be sharper and smaller as Sandeep states), then go down in resolution until the font is where you like it.
On my home theater, which now is only 65 inches is 1080p. When I go up to around 90 inches, 1080p HD will look worse. But, by then, I will have 4K. 8K is going to be incredible, but many say the human eye won't be able to detect it. There is a sweet spot somewhere.
