I have been using AC for several months. I enlarge the text boxes, I alter my computer display and pump up computer display sixe in general but still Amazing Chart font sixe is so very tiny patients laugh and ask if I am writing in secret code. It sure feels like it. My boss does not pay extra for Angel help and so Amazing Chart help will not respond. What is the magic answer to make the font size appear greater than about 4.5? I also work. It is profoundly difficult to see. I am pretty big on complete charting but this is a killer.

GO Control Panel/Appearance & Personalization/Display. Then increase all Fonts to 150%

When you are doing your notes, be sure to use "boomer mode" by hitting ctrl-e to enlarge each field.

Get a BIGGER MONITOR ! 18in vs 25IN

not just a bigger monitor but one with large dot pitch (pixel size is larger).
then best is 27" 1920x1080 - huge monitor but all the text is nice and chunky sized even before you start playing with windows settings.

I'm with Larry. 27" 1080P is the sweet spot if you have trouble seeing. There's a sale on a Ben Q 27" 1080P with a VA Panel. I have one as my 4th monitor. The better contrast with the VA panel in addition to the large size is excellent for anyone with trouble seeing.

Agreed as well. There is a sweet spot. 27 is nice. I have probably used over 50 monitors (flat screens seem to be very senstive to power surges -- even with AVRs, etc.) CRT will last through a fire.

To be honest, I started with QX2710LED. Shipped from Taiwan in one day. It is the clearest best picture I have ever seen. A little pricey but worth it. There is nothing like going to Best Buy or Staples and just comparing.

Pay particular attention to connections: VGA vs DVI vs HDMI, etc. If you can go HDMI, that would be the best. This monitor actually takes a Dual DVI.

Check under Computer --> System Properties, then Windows Expertience Index and see what your scores are for graphics. To be completely honest, though on one of my computers with a $400 graphics card, the screen is not as sharp as this one using the onboard. Of course with an Intel i7, the onboard video is fine. The WEI is basically overrated.

I am with John. I don't see how a monitor is going to change your font. My font is fine from my smartphone remoting in.

HERE IS THE FIRST THING I WOULD DO BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE.

Assuming you are on Win 7, Win 8 or Vista; (always good to list all these things), try the following first:

Right click on your desktop. Select screen resolution. This will tell you your video card, etc. Under Display, it will say this. Mine says plain ol' VGA boring generic monitor. It is using the processor onboard video.

Underneath is the Resolution. My staff complains when I make it too high for them, because I like it very high. I like my icons to be very small.

But, if you change the setting (and the number of choices is based on your video input to some degree) you can change your font. Mine is 2560 X 1440. 1080p is HD, so you get the idea. But, it is on a larger screen.

On this screen, under all this technical stuff I just said there are two sentences in blue:

MAKE TEXT AND OTHER ITEMS LARGER OR SMALLER

WHAT DISPLAY SETTINGS SHOULD I CHOOSE

Sorry to shout, they are actually very small, so you may not even see them on your PC.

There is also an Advanced settings to the right. It gives you three choices: Small, medium and large. Self-explanatory, lol. I just tried it, and the font got larger in AC.

Finally, while Minecraft will look and perform better with a $400 nVidia card and a 27 inch monitor, I think you will just see a better font but same size relatively speaking.

I doubt Guardian Angels could fix this, but do you ePrescribe? It comes with the support and you need it for upgrades, etc. I would highly recommend it. Plus, it supports AC for you and everyone.

Welcome to AC. This was your first post. You can see how quickly everyone responds. We are a very close community. One piece of advice. You can change your display name to just Mary in profile. You can't change your login/username, though, which I am guessing is the same thing.

Finally, some of your actual video cards will have a CD with drivers and install a program, which allows you to change a lot of settings. Likely, they are the same settings I talked about manually, but you can go through the advanced settings. That may be for the 12 yo down the street? If you got one on Amazon, you could return it if you didn't like it. And, it would be simple to install, and we could walk you through it.

2560 X 1440 is a pretty high pixel density. I would consider 1440P more of an enthusiast/advanced resolution lol. No arguments on the greater clarity and level of detail in images and video provided the source input is 1440P, but it will be harder to read.

It's a bit counter intuitive but we actually want a monitor with fewer pixels per inch (PPI). This makes things look bigger but not sharper.

The reason why we are recommending 1080P at that resolution is that the text is pretty visible without any DPI scaling. DPI scaling doesn't always work. For instance, 150% DPI scaling on 1650x1050 on AC would cause it not to fit the screen. I'm sure some people have noticed things being cut off when the scaling is too high. There's 78% more pixels in 1440P so things will definitely seem smaller. In an ideal world where DPI scaling worked perfectly 27" 1440P with DPI scaling would be better.

While I personally would go with a 1440P monitor, I would recommend the 1080P for anyone with trouble seeing. The extra contrast on the Ben Q will also be helpful.

Let me clarify my post. I completely agree with Sandeep. I have a rather large monitor with a high pixel density AND I like very small icons. I hate large fuzzy icons.

If you take anything from my post, it is that you can start at 1440 (which will be sharper and smaller as Sandeep states), then go down in resolution until the font is where you like it.

On my home theater, which now is only 65 inches is 1080p. When I go up to around 90 inches, 1080p HD will look worse. But, by then, I will have 4K. 8K is going to be incredible, but many say the human eye won't be able to detect it. There is a sweet spot somewhere.

All of this talk about big monitors has me thinking of getting a 27".
In my office on my desk, I don't really have room for a monitor that size; that is, if I want to be able to see my patient. I use two smaller monitors, basically one for AC and one for Updox.
At home, I would use the larger monitor and view both of those on one screen.
So, to those of you who use a 27"... can I have AC and Updox side-by-side and have them large enough to be able to view both at the same time?

Not efficiently. The AC window always lines up midscreen and overlaps the Updox window, can't be changed (as you know).

The way to solve the AC behavior is to open a connection to the server via RDP, that way you can put AC in it's place and keep it where you put it.

Oh, the little things we just learned to live with, and AC has never bothered to change despite the crying and fits.
