Sorry to hear about your plight. There are many posts about this type of issue, with many suggestions. Unfortunately, there is not one single answer. I would suggest that you post again with the specifics of your AC version (any recent upgrades?), your OS, and your hardware, being specific about your server/clients and switches. I expect people will come to your assistance here, and they can do a better job when they have this info. Meanwhile, try searching the board here for old posts about slowing...
And one quick idea, based on your comment about pending items: look in your mailbox for deleted items. You may have accumulated thousands which can slow things down. If so, use the button to remove them all.
