Fly across the USofA in Nov/Dec?!?!?
Please strongly consider video conferencing/streaming of the conference. I know that may mean missing meeting other AC users, but heck we could gather in some of the UserGroup sites.

I think that is a great idea!!
Travel from Alaska to the East coast is more expensive and with more jet lag than for you East coasters to travel to Europe, and the conferences previously have fallen in the time of year (Summer) that makes it worthwhile to have put up with Winter in the north. Think how you would react if every conference you needed to attend was in Portugal, and held over your birthday. Nov - December would suit me fine. Videostreaming would be a good second.
