Also don't forget about your Volume Shadow Copies, one of the most import things on WIN 7 on up. But, they have to be stored somewhere, and they could be stored on your C:\ drive.
You would want them on a different drive. Volume Shadow Copies (a benefit of Volume Shadow Services, VSS) are a powerful redudant backup.
Here are two pictures of them you should check out. Reember, you can't set them up on individual folders only on volumes, hence the term volume. I tend to use it only on my data drive.
