I had thought about Ken's scenario in the past. While it is pretty unlikely (especially since it involves someone walking out with some bulky and heavy hardware under their arm) I wondered if I could restore the way he proposes. Running AC without adding any new II seems doable. The concern is about adding new II, then downloading the original II and trying to add them together.
This prompted me to do a little experiment: I dropped a pdf into the imported items folder of a patient, then ran the II "found items" utility. It didn't find the file. Hardly a definitive test, but it makes me uncomfortable with the idea that I could handle this in the simple way that Bert suggests.
I hope that makes SOME sense.
