I think your reasoning is correct, and it *could* be helpful to whomever fixes bugs.
This must be fixable, because the HPI and ROS fields don't have this problem (i.e. changes made there are saved with the CTRL-S command, even if there is a blinking cursor/active field).
Circumstances in my practice dictate that *every* patient I see currently has to be saved to my inbox when I finish seeing them (that's a whole 'nother topic), so this is an important thing to me right now.
Hitting "CTRL-S" is a lot easier than clicking "Forward", then scrolling and selecting my name from a combo box, then clicking "Send."
