OK, I am trying to help. And, from what I read, I am confused comparing the above scenario with the templates scenario. Whenever I try to help in a situation that I am not familiar with, I have to try to reproduce it and learn it first. So bear with me.

The way I see it, the Save Chart (to your message inbox) CTRL - S does just that. It saves the chart, whether it has been even typed in or not to the message area (not, of course, to the database).

From trying it several times, there is absolutely no difference between File -> Save Chart, CTRL - S and Forward Chart button. They all do the same thing. They all forward the chart, as is, to your inbox. The only thing one has to know is that the last field will not be saved to the inbox if it is still considered an active field, i.e. has a blinking cursor because the program will consider that field to be still active. When my MA puts in all of her data and then clicks Forward Chart rather than CTRL - S, the last bit of data is saved to the inbox BECAUSE she moves the mouse to the button and clicks and the window comes up and there is no longer an active field in the chart.

Hope this helps.
