2. A complete reinstall of the OS, something I am not willing to do given the enormous amount of time that takes coupled with the subsequent headaches of forgetting small things about the reinstall.
This is actually what I wish I could do, on every machine in the office. I frequently re-install Windows on my personal machine about every three months. There's nothing better than a fresh install.
Unfortunately, that's simply not an option for my customer. The time and resources lost would be too much of stress on him. I'm looking for the fastest method to get him back up, fully-functional.
I'm currently in talks with tech support on how to resolve this issue. I'll keep everyone posted, and if anyone can contribute, it'd be greatly appreciated.
