I have been an AC user since 04/10. Prior to that I used Praxis. I have been using X-link since 2006. With Praxis, I had all kinds of problems, mostly on their side with the interfaces. Since switching in 04/10, I have had no problems whatsoever using X-link. I use Lytec for my billing. I was on version 2006 until about a week ago, as I too did not want to pay for the upgrades to all the programs. With the 4 version upgrade of Lytec, it cost me about $350 to upgrade the X-link. I went from version 12 to 14, so that it would work when I upgraded to Lytec 2011. Their prices are fairly reasonable when looking at a lot of the other medical software companies. I would recommend not purchasing the 60 day support, just pay by the hour. The techs they use have always gotten on my system and been finished within 15 minutes to update the program. You are right about the issue with flow of information. The superbills go in real time to the billing software, but all demographics and other information from the billing software need to be manually transferred. My girl at the front desk does this several times a day, so really not a big deal at all. A few clicks of buttons is all it takes. Overall, I'm very happy with the current setup.
