The frustrating thing is, while patients can choose what pharmacy and thereby dictate which pharmacies do better, it is difficult for us to do the same. I know two pharmacies here in town who I will not name, but there intials are Wall and Mart. They simply do NOT have fax machines. Just those things that people use in their homes. I got so frustrated, I boycotted them. But, it isn't like you can tell your patients where to go (well pharmacy-wise).
I ePrescribe now, so it's a moot point, but before my patients would say they were going to Wall and Mart, and I would tell them I was going to fax it and they would say, "Well, I will call you when I get there, 'cause you know it won't be there." Never understood why I just didn't write them a script. Oh, yeah, now I remember, Medicaid. Can't give them scripts. Federal law and everything.
