I am in the process of switching from Allscripts to the Surescripts/New Crop in AC.
The interface with v4 forces is not yet "in the note". You have to go to the pt list, go to the medications tab, right click and enter. It does offer an option for adding meds directly to the list without having to send them to the pharmacy. I like this for my controlled substances that I still hand write.
There is a way to add the new meds to the list and remove old ones in a synchronization process. I really like that.
In AC I have been worried because it was hard to really tell when the scripts were written or filled. The eprescribing takes care of that. I feel more confident of my list.
I have a lot of elderly, very sick patients. I reconcile their meds at each visit and print them a list to take with them at the end of the visit. At this point, I am satisfied with the eprescribing in AC. Eprescribing is on the launching pad to be an integral part of ac in the next few months. Can't wait.
