I can't seem to print the current medication list with any of the reports or progress notes. Does anyone else have this problem? I'm very new to AC and trying to get the hang of it! biggerstaff@comcast.net

Without opening the patient's chart, select this patient in the <Patient List>, then click on the small arrow just below the patient list (to the left of the small printer icon), a new list will open. Select <Pull Medication List>

James:
When you open a patients chart, how do you enter the medicines?? Do you just type it in??
If you are- the correct way to enter medicines would be-- double click on medication field- a new screen will open up and enter patients medicines there.
Hope this helps.

I am not able to find a way to print out a medication list to give to my patients other than printing a complete Continuity of Care report. I would just like to print out the current active med list with the patient's name and current date. I add the date because at present when I print the CCR to give the patient a med list there is no date on the CCR and if I print out a new list weeks later, we have to try and figure out which is the most recent (there should be a date printed on the CCR).

To print med list only you need to get into the medication prescription window. You can access this from several ways, for instance: 1. Main AC view, you find the patient you need and Right click the mouse and select pull summary sheet. 2. If this patient chart is open, you will find summary sheet tab on the top.
Once you are in the Medication prescription window you can select to print all your active medications they will come out with the date of the refill.
I hope this helps.

I posted wrong description on printing meds earlier.
Here is how you can print medication list only:
1. Open patient's chart 2. Go to Past Encounters 3. Select <Medications Only> in the View box on the right 4. Select the last encounter in the pull-down menu just above the note 5. Click on Print Selection to the right

Click on Print Selection to the right This will print out a medication list, but it is only the medications listed in your current medication list from that visit. Unfortunately if you have refilled prescriptions or changed meds since that visit you will have an outdated list. I want to be able to print out the CURRENT medications in a list form. Which also begs the question of how to use the "Current Medications" list. I had interpreted that to be the medications the patient was taking before the office visit (since it does not automatically change when you write new prescrpitions). But now I find if I click on that box after writing the new prescriptions (or deleting old ones) the box will be updated??? In my mind if it supposed to be kept current it should update automatically, I should not have to remember to double click in the box to update it Greg

In the medications page, you can go under, I think, "file, print, print all active medications" but when I try it nothing happens. I think this may be a bug.

WCoghill, That is a bug. Report it! Greg Phillips, I believe current meds to be from BEFORE VISIT. I hate it when I click on the meds box again and it is updated with stuff I changed in the plan. There are a number of bugs in the whole medication arena that I would love to see fixed up, but will only get addressed, I feel, if each one is reported seperately from multiple people.
In order to print a list of meds for a patient, I am cutting the med list and pasting it into a word processor and changing the latin to english so they can read and understand it. I also use a large easy to read font. Would be nice if that was part of amazing charts.
