I have problems occasionally with losing files. I use Wireless sysytem with tablet pc.
Is there a way to keep on saving patients' file while working on it without forwarding it to somebody or me (which cumbersome and time taking).

Because once the wireless signal is lost even for a second, the whole working chart is lost and gone for ever.

Have you thought of attaching your wireless router to a battery backup so as to protect your wireless LAN from brief blackouts or brownouts? Folks do this for computers, but forget to do that for routers!

I have powered my network switch and modem/firewall since the begining of my network's birth.

I feel it's imortant to keep the guts of your network functioning for as long as possible during a power outage. It makes no sense keeping a bunch of clients powered if they can't talk to the server.

But it is even a way of avoiding data issues for those little power glitches you may not even be aware, just enough to mess things up. By keeping them on the BBU, fliter, you can hopefully avoid most of these kind of hidden issues. Clean consistant power is always a good thing for computers and other high fidelity gear (Audio and Video)... Good point Al.

AVR or automatic voltage regulation is probably more important than the UPS. It keeps the power very smooth. Brownouts can cause your flat screen monitors to bite the dust. Plus some power companies power down during the day and back up during the night. And, of course, that is when we get the faxes back to them so our patients can get their power turned back on, because we all know that the MDIs need 110 volts, lol.
