Is it possible to have more than the standard fee in AC? We are considering exporting billing info from AC into a billing software program, but it appears I (or someone) must painstakingly change the standard fee to the Medicare fee on each and every entry. Please tell me that ain't so.

Ron,
We don't use AC for billing, so maybe this is not helpful. But, can you go to Administrative Options, Maintenance, then Edit CPT Database (at the bottom left), and change it there?

Ron, If you mean having a fee schedule for each and every product or carrier you work with, then NO AC can not do any such thing. AC is no where near that level of PM or billing at the moment. Something (none of us are sure exactly what) like a real PM is sort of in the works, but what that is, is anyone's guess, beside Jon's...
You'll need to find some sort of a long term hold me over for all of that.... Sorry, but that's the way it is.

Thanks for your reply. We only need a standard fee and a Medicare fee. Having to amend each and every Medicare encounter is too much for me. That way we could import the billing from AC to my billing software program.

Ron, Well than can't your billing program hold and use the multiple fee schedules? That is the job of the PM not the EMR. AC should have your one, single, because anything else is insurance fraud charges, then your PM can have the various fee schedules that those cartel bastards at the various carriers will pay. And it should calculate copay, write off and a whole bunch of other stuff related to all this.
What PM are you using anyway? I am in the midst of making a final choice on one for oursleves as well. One of the things I hate the most about this business. Total horseCCHIT. Anyway, welcome aboard....

Thanks for the welcome. I use Widom, but we were hoping to ditch it and use AC to import into a billing program, but If AC can't to 2 fee schedules (standard and Medicare) we would have to change every MC encounter, and that is too labor intensive. Thanks for you quick replies.
