Hey folks, just a quick heads up. I was the second person in one day to have big trouble installing 3.5. Beth called my office and left me a message saying that there are some "bugs" and to not try again until I hear back from her and AC. I downloaded as always but the install program didn't run and then my main computer (peer to peer) go all hung up while task manager told me that the exe file was sort of running but obviously not doing the right thing. So I might suggest that for those of you who have not yet installed the newest beta, you may be well advised to wait a few days until this is worked out. wink

Was it 3.5.6 or 3.5.7? I installed 3.5.6 yesterday just fine. But this AM I saw your message and 3.5.7, so I've held off on installing 3.5.7.

I installed before reading this. The install was extremely slow, took almost a 1/2 hour. Probably 5 minutes before the initial screen started. It did load the program correctly and it seems to work well. This is 3.5.7

My trouble was with the very first version not the last few tweaks. But the girls at support told me to wait the weekend while they (Jon?) worked on it. So I pinged them yesterday and it seems that nobody really worked on it. Yet Friday I was told that I was one of a few know users having such problems. Lately one can not talk to Carlos or Jon which I think would make me feel a bit better. It feels like although fairly nice people, these new folks are still getting up to speed. The install program sort of got stuck, I could see it sort of doing something in task manager, but not where it counted. They wanted me to completely delete AC on Friday night!!! Which of course I didn't do...I rebooted and ran a system restore just in case instead. I mean the thing has an install program and it should run when one hits run. It always has in the past. I'm probable going to try it again tonight with the newest update after we close up to the night and see what happens this time. Wish me luck. crazy
P.S. I was one of the folks who really put the bug in Jon's ear about the Sync feature and so just about a year later, here it is. He really does listen to his users if there is a real demand for something. So let him know how much we all want Amazing PM, OK. wink

hi guys, i also installed but silly me forgot to install on the server first. big trouble, but claire at tech support got me squared away. she seems to be very much on the ball. also i had been out sick and not done a backup for a couple days. all yesterdays charts and any new patients demographics....gone, luckily we at least have demographic info saved on external drive with other imported items as a back up. so a lesson learned. i was not doing backups every day because i had to stay after work an extra 20 min while the file encrypted.... #2 lesson mark the box to not back up imported items. takes about a minute for back up. all are imported items are also on an external drive so i can eventually delete some from AC as more and more info gets put on AC. 6 months and the old stuff comes off. we are an urgent care so some of you might want it on for longer. but its already on the external which can be accessed on any computer with two clicks. sorry i know this is wordy but i thought good info to share. love the new version. yeah.

one more thought. what do you guys and girls think about a weekend conference in rhode island, get together share ideas bring a laptop, newport is a cool town. jon i think this would be really fun. and its tax deductable. comments?

I installed AC 3.5.8 today on a test system, and all seems to be OK so far. I don't know for how long the CPT modifier column has been incorporated into the SIGN ENCOUNTER screen, but it's good to see that there is now a place for them. Also good to see that the G and Q codes are now "officially" recognized. Would be good to have AC 2's "No Charge" button when signing bills, so we can deal with ins. billing restrictions.

3.5.7 clobbered by printer. Seems that during the install my printer network settings were changed. Some type of glitch. Once I reinstalled my printer onthe network I was fine. No problems with 3.5.8.

I installed 3.58 and except for a few run time errors all seems to be good here in the great white north. Must have been a first version thing. I'm trying to get some detailed info out of AC tech as to how the Sync is supposed to work, but Jon and Carlos are away until Monday and it seems the folks holding down the fort are not quite sure what to tell me, but yes taking your laptop off site and charting and re-syncing later is the whole idea of the thing.
Warning: Sync is a very follow these procedures to the letter type of thing, for the saftey of your data. we should all wait until Jon posts very explicit instructions on how to safely proceed. I was having a back and forth on line tonight with Tech about how to start because it's my understanding that one needs to have a good recent copy of their main database on the laptop to then be adding things while in the field. How else would the data end up back in the correct chart unless it came from the same chart. Only new patients can probably come from nowhere. Mrs. Smith chart #318 must originate and return to chart #318 I would gather. Then it is the Sync functions job to run some sort of search and compare I would guess. But guessing is not an option. And again this is why we need good detailed instructions.
This was something that I had Jon promise me he would work on when Nancy and I first signed on with AC. We don't like leaving our server on and connected to the internet all night long if we're not here on site to watch "who's trying to break in". But Nancy does do a few housecalls and she does like to catch up on work at night from home. So this was very important to us. Thanks Jon! I really think that this puts AC in a very elite position way ahead of almost any other Inexpensive Quality EMR. Even most of the expensive snooty ones are scared to try Sync. Way to Go guys! The only other one that I've seen that has this feature is Altapoint and their EMR is so-so, it's their PM module that's strong. I hope that tech will get back to me after the weekend when Jon and Carlos on are site. We are very anxious to try out this feature. I'm an Uncle...Quick, pass out bubblegum cigars! grin
Now about that PM Module...... wink

Knock on wood, I had no problems since installation. So far I am very pleased with it and congratulate Jon on a job well done. It is nice to have the ability to sign off on labs and reports, but it needs to be limited to only certain types of reports: No need to sign off on administrative issues such as insurance cards, drivers license, HIPPA forms, outbound letters written by provider, etc.
