Often the pharmacy sends refill requests that are non-NDC, and if refilled, then that kicks out the NDC drug from the patient's medication list. This necessitates extra clicks and probably worsens global warming through generation of trans-aural steam. This may have already been discussed, but is there a fix for this in the works or in versions higher than 11.1? THANKS!

Interesting that you have narrowed it down to the NDC number causing the issue. Did you talk to AC tech support?

Very interesting detective work. AC are you listening? Paging AC representative.
Very important and seemingly randomly with certain medications on refill request it gets gets inactivated from med list.
The one I noticed is amlodipine

What happens is that some of the pharmacy refills, if approved, enter the active prescription list as italicized medications, which later cannot themselves be refilled because they are non-NDC (an alert pops up stating this). Also, the NDC version of the medication previously prescribed is moved to the inactive list. It is not a CRITICAL problem, as long as one thinks of the extra clicks needed to correct the error as finger exercise and the time spent doing so as bringing one that much closer to the glorious afterlife. I have not spoken with AC, I just drop these small treats along the path for others who, like myself, are headed to that little house built entirely from bread with a roof made of cake, and the windows of clear sugar. With the nice lady inside. And oven...

Well HEADCASE you did make me laugh this morning.
Glad you saw the pop up for NDC. I saw this recently as well and have had some medications that were able to be electronically changed to italicized. I also have had meds that just disappear. I think AC should be made aware of what is going on, can you send in a bug report? Not sure it will help as I have sent one in but maybe if enough people complain they will wake up. My fingers get lots of exercise with this typing and wish it would translate over to the cardiac exercise and overall weight loss!

AC Support email response suggested upgrading to v11.3 to address this problem but the message was a bit vague on the specific issue. After reading the upgrade tales from ntgi and Shrinkrap, under the covers with a flashlight, I am filled with trepidation, nay, dread, to undertake so perilous a quest. Anybody out there on v11.3 have the non-NDC problem? Chris, Larry, does that apply to you? Anyone? Anyone? Something d-o-o economics.
Sunday is Mother's Day everybody! It's also National Buttermilk Biscuit Day. Coincidence? I think not.

A little Edgar Allen Poe Amazing Charts edition, great reading! I am not on version 11.3. I asked AC Tech about version 11.3 and was told unless I am doing MIPS there is no reason to change at this time.
