We have the ability to submit data to the NC Health Information exchange (I just need to "flick the switch" in AC by double-clicking HealthConnex in the Interface window).

It appears now that the state of NC is ready to receive immunization data uploaded from AC directly to the Immunization Registry (NCIR) as well.

Will I be able to start submitting to the NCIR just by double-clicking it in the list of interfaces in AC? Is the fact that I am all set to submit to the HIE also include submitting to the NCIR? Or is there something more I need to do first?

(fyi, I submitted this question to AC support 2 weeks ago, but I haven't received a response. They must be covered up in upgrade work.)

Thanks!

I started the interface with the TX registry last year. The setup was a disaster. It finally worked months later. Now, it works but there are new problems all the time. It seems I always have a case open with AC on this interface. AC uses another company to clean up the data before it's sent to the state, so I have to wait for AC to contact that vendor and see what the problem is, etc. It's so tedious and I hate it. I wish we had gone with a pediatric specific EMR.

But yes, when it does work, you click on export to registry, select the dates. The records get sent at night to the vendor then through to the state.

I'm guessing all states do it differently. For us, I have to check the registry's FTP for the data quality report to make sure all the vaccines are being translated correctly.

Edit: you have to contact AC to pay for this interface and set everything up.
