AC, since I pay for your software, I shouldn't have to look at ads on a login screen. I don't care if it is for your own products, its the principle of it. The annual fees went up and now this. Ugh.
It may be possible to turn off the ads, as this post from last December suggests:

Just a reminder, if ads do bother you that much you can contact support to have them turned off. Support will run a script on your database to disable the link.

I must have missed that thread. Thanks for the info. I'll check with support and see if that can be done. I wouldn't have a problem with ads IF there was a discount on annual maintenance fees to go along with them. If I am subjected to ads on a paid for product, then I should get something in return.
I contacted support via email. They replied in a short amount of time. I replied with a call back number and tech remote into my server (but stated could have been a client). Then ran a script to remove link in database as prior thread stated. Now no more Ads.
Tech stated the link may return if upgrade to new version of AC or if move database to a new server. If that happens, then just contact support and have script run again.
So, as long as nothing is updated, then should be permanent.
It's nice to know that the company listens to its custormers. However, I think that AC is probably still the least expensive EMR that actually works (sort of), and it might be better for them to do it like YouTube or Spottify -- an up-front "free" (or at least lower cost) version with ads and a "pro" version without.
As of 6/20/2022, ads are back. I made no changes to my locally hosted AC. Really annoying having to spend time to contact support to have them turned back off again, when nothing has changed in my environment. Thanks AC.
I liked that they use that space for important announcements. You can't miss it. But when it advertises Vioxx, I just have a hard time tuning it out. Would rather pay %15.00 more in support. Support would probably wish we paid $15.00 more in support. Unfortunately, we are in the minority as many seem to not be bothered by it.
Agreed. It's more of the principle of the issue. Seeing ads on software that is paid for and current on annual fees without getting a discount for being served ads is what bothers me the most. An Ad for AC maintenance issue or new feature is not that bad, but for anything outside of that, then No.
