Having been a devoted AC User since 2008, I became dysenchanted for a series of reasons not the least of which was when the program was sold and it felt like the focus of the program and support really seemed to change from physicians helping physicians comply with regulations and optimize the physician-patient relationship to a BUSINESS. The warm feeling of being PART OF SOMETHING, was gone.
Have you heard about, demo'd or changed to a different EMR??
Why??

Still with Amazing Charts, would have been about the same time you started, around 2008, since the days of Jon. I do miss the idea of a small EHR company and Jon at the helm. I enjoyed the meet up user conference in RI back in 2011 so much I still tell people about it. I loved the round table idea at the end of the "conference" where we sat at a table with a programmer and then Jon stood on the stage up front and listened to all of our complaints, wants and desires then looked at someone on his staff and asked how can we do that or fix that.
With that being said, I do not blame him for selling and making a move that was not only good for him (I am sure) financially but also for his stress. I believe AC lost some ground when Primed took it from Jon and didn't really know what to do. Primed tried by having local meet ups at the Primed conventions but they never seemed to totally support the product. I now see Harris finding AC to be a usable platform and trying to make improvements but also having to deal with all of the regulatory efforts of EMR's while keeping costs down.
I have read on here about how Harris doesn't support AC and how it may be trying to disassemble AC and that all may be true but isn't what I am seeing from the Harris website. On their website, there is Pulse, Picasso by Doc-tor, MED-FX PM which links you to AC EHR, Digichart for OB/GYN specialists again links with AC at the top, Progno CIS and AC Caretracker. My point is, all in all, when you look at the website Amazing Charts is predominantly displayed. It appears to be the core EHR for the company. I have not had any problems getting support when I needed. Did I have to have some patience at times and wait my turn? YES, but Guardian Angel support has been very supportive. Are there things that need improvement, YES, but probably will be in all programs.
The idea that there are things that need improvement is my final point. I have always been told there is nothing perfect and I feel that way with the EHR from any manufacturer. I am sure PRAXISS is a great program. I don't believe that everything it does or can do is perfect. I choose to stay with Amazing Charts because of consistency over time, ease of the chart, history of charts, my comfort level using it, my experience with support, the future of Harris as a large company that is diversified, the comfort level of my staff using the program (very easy for new staff to learn and use), in house server, and most of all the time it would take for me to change to another EHR seems daunting.
Sorry so long but felt like you needed an honest input about where an old AC user stands.

SO with all of the frustrations with version 11.2 and 11.1.4 prescribing has anyone changed EMR's that still log on here to just swing by?
Is anyone considering a change?
I got records from a local physician and he uses Practice Fusion, I didn't realize they were still in business. Looks like they started out as free and now charge $149 per month to include prescribing and support. I am going to look into the billing aspect of PF for costs. They say on their website that the price includes: Cloud-Based with Automatic Updates, Automatic eligibility checks, Unlimited document storage, Automatic text + voice appointment reminders, Customizable appointment scheduler, Online patient intake and other perks. I winder if it as good as the website makes it appear?
Just some food for thought.......I still feel the time to change EMR's will be monumental but I another peron has given me an idea on how to change. I also would miss the AC user board as this has been a source of information for years.
Thanks for any input.

I would have at least two demos from any company and talk to at least one customer, which will be a little biased. I would still look at CharmHealth. I believe they include PM. They have incredible documentation very well thought out.
If I changed I doubt I would let anyone know until the go live date, but I wouldn't give up the board. And, you can still post here and "complain about fushion, lol."

Bert,
Finally I show on this forum after all these years. Have been busy with life and paying less attention to wife's practice. Those good old days in 2008-2010 when i would spend so much time these forums.
I am ready to move on from AC. Looking at options and reading on the forums, I see some options
CharmHealth (looks attractive): EClinical (someone mentioned) Practice Fusion ? (I remember in 2013 I almost joined them as employee as engineering manager)
anyone have any good ones with good experience.
If someone has moved on, how did you handle the migration? anyone offering anything good options

Perfect timing. Right when I get a bump in my creatinine.
I swear I will move on one day. I know when I was in the hunt, I couldn't stop looking at CharmEHR. Not too complicated. I think building your own "templates" could be time consuming. I have also been looking at pediatric-oriented ones.
Never thought I would go to the cloud but with fast connections now, it seems the transitions are so smooth and fast. The guy I lease from uses eMDs, but he only says about 10 words a week so I never hear much from him about it.
I don't think I would do a migration, but that's just from experience of how AC works.

One thing I would like to point out is that Harris does have other EHR solutions for if/when you are ready to move from Amazing Charts. the two I would look at is CareTracker and PrognoCIS. Both are web based solutions, so no server/cloud/remote login. They also offer a bunch of features that I know the AC community is looking for in an EHR.
I have helped in PrognoCIS conversions before. Its a fairly complete conversion, including all demographics, chart notes, labs, and more. We basically try to pull every piece of data we can out of the SQL database to get imported into PrognoCIS. CareTracker has their own team that does similar, but I have not worked with that team yet.
Just my 2 cents.

Hey Mark,
Thanks for that. Haven't seen you around in a while. It's great when support can jump on here and help out. Sometimes when it gets negative it is just one thing like EPCs or eRX.

Have used CareTracker for the PM/Billing with AC in my office and this is working fairly well. It as some issues but overall is good. I ahve seen the Caretracker EHR and did not like the dashboard, way too busy for me. I like the simplicity of the note for AC. The ease of AC has always been its high point.
I am not familiar with PrognoCIS so can't comment.

I jinxed myself with the last post, Caretracker is no longer talking to AC. AC support is the support for both products. We lost the link 4 days ago and now are unable to bill. AC support is looking into the problem, hopefully today they will get it fixed.
