Greetings~
With current V3.78 how to you do create registries? for eg., DM Is it possible? Or you just use search mode every time?
How is a registry different from search? Is it going to be available in future versions?
Can anybody who was exposed to other EMRS give an explanation or can Jon post a screen print out from a future version?

Hi, Joseph: Always good to hear from you. V3.78 does not contain a registry function yet. Jon gave a few of us a sneak preview of the upcoming registry function in V4.0 the other night, but Jon is still working on adding features. He is very interested in user input into that feature, while it is still in the early stages. I don't know much about health registries and how to make them work. I read about this online health registry service recently: http://www.docsite.com/I wondered if anybody had checked it out, and could explain about it or suggest ways to bring these functions into Amazing Charts.

Brian, I clicked on the link and my eyes glazed over. I felt like that ad for "catch phrase bingo". What is this thing, some place to make you guys or your staff first double enter all the major points in a visit or the patient's chart, just so they can then calculate or graph some CCHIT based on it???
And I always love the vauge reference to "inexpensive"...

Brian, thanks for that link. It makes me want to do a little research and see what is out there. The one you posted does seem long on ambition and short on delivery. And the lack of a price, "tell us how big your group is and we will quote you a price". That ain't gonna work! Having the ability to access the accepted best practices, and being able to link guideline for best practices into AC for individual patients will be a huge step towards the "Medical Home" model of practice.

Okay, have a look at this: http://www.cdems.com/Free chronic health registry -- Found it on another forum. I don't have time to check it out right now. Might it serve as a model for Amazing Charts' registry?

CDEMs looks interesting on their website. It would appear to be adaptable to AC as it is based on access databases. Our databases are locked, so being able to connect to them would have to be done by Jon and company, but this may be an easy solution to adding a registry management system. Having said this, I have not tried to play with it either, but I will in the near future.

Some of our insurers want to see us using chronic health registries. Since we don't have this function yet, it will be awesome when Jon incorporates health registry data collection.

So, Adam, Wendell and Martin, try out the CDEMS free health registry thingie, and report back to us on whether it has features worthy of incorporation into AC. Maybe this could turn into a discussion topic for the conference in June (there is still some flexibility in the program). That is your mission. This post will self-destruct in five seconds...

Just started to look at it yesterday. May extend the report capabilities for AC but it is somewhat primative. I will need to look more, but it might be a easy way to extend the reporting capabilities. I was basing this on using their initial data and just looking at a couple of reports. I will need to see how easy it is to export/import data and then see if it is useful. We may be in Branson before that happens though

Larry Lyon just emailed me to tell me about CDEMS and it reminded me that I had posted on the topic and was waiting to hear about Users experience with the program.
As it turns out, the Health Registry is going to be a fairly big topic at the upcoming User Conference. We are actually going to have several talks with that theme, and a brainstorming session with Jon about what abilities should be included in this feature.

Thanks Brian and folks: Here is the pricing list: http://www.docsite.com/help/pricing/It appears every feature we all AC users wish to have and do not have, can be had at about $60 per mth, like ~ e-prescribing, this registry, relay health for structured and secure email to patients, IMH, my Practice management software (which is actually $90 per mth) what else? Adding upto about $300 per month additional costs taking to $3600 per yr. Just can't have one software with all those, can we?
