Can anyone recommend a antivirus program that is compatible with AC?

I have the same question. I was using Avast Business but it despite setting up exceptions it kept interfering with AC, Updox and my network. What are other practices using?

I use Norton (yes many poo-poo it) and Malwarebytes Premium and other than disabling autoprotect on Norton when I install/do a version update to AC I have had no problems.

Bert tipped me off to Hitman Pro.Alert, which is owned by Sophos. It has caught several ransomware trojans in the past few years. I haven't has problems with Updox & AC being impeded, and its simple to set up exclusions to updates of resident programs. Also allows a free trial period.

I had two crashes on my main related to Malwarebytes premium in the past 4 days. Had to analyze the Windows memory dumps files (was time consuming) to come up with the culprit. I just wanted others to be aware!

Been happy with Windows Defender (microsoft built-in). Plus no admin privileges on users accounts, plus Chromebooks for each employee for web / email while on break.
My only weakness is my own browsing on the web - for that I use Ublock origin extension (blocks a lot of web page actions). I'm considering browsing via a separate virtual machine isolated from the office network, or maybe my own Chromebook?
This is a very good idea. I once considered a separate monitor connected to a very inexpensive refurbished computer on a different subnet.
Larry, are your employees still able to use email on the work computers for business use? Or web browsing. I just ask because the reason I never went with the my idea was the Internet and email are so intertwined in the workflow.

I agree with Larry, so far I have been happy with Defender. I have used AVG and Avast in the past, but they pop up too much junk in the free versions and don't seem to provide better protection to warrant the paid versions.

I have been using Norton Security. $99 per year for 10 devices. Go to Amazon and buy Norton 360 for 10 devices for $44.90. After a year with auto renewal, $99. Buy the Norton 360 but it will allow you to download the latest version Norton Security.

Those who use logmein may have seen it already. Bitdefender is now included with the subscription and it has been working well on my PC for a couple of months.

Actually, Windows Security has gotten pretty good. It has a nice white list policy with protected folders. I still use HitmanPro some, but I have upgraded to the Intercept X and use some of the professional version of BitDefender for server.
BUT.....there are only two 100% positive ways for protection from malware and especially from ransomware.
1. A complete online backup with incrementals nightly (still not 100%) plus unless you can boot from them, it can take a while to get your data back.
2. An air-gapped system using at least two drives so that ONE is always air-gapped. Taking home a backup is air-gapped during transit and at home, but while it is connected either during the day or during backup, it is prone to being attacked. Alternating two USB drives where when you add one for the backup, you either take the other one home (or as I do) put it in a safe three feet away, is the only sure way to protect yourself. At this point ransomware can only get to shares, but as most data needs to be shared, nearly all data is at risk. Backups are still the best defense against malware.
