I am currently dictating using the microphone portion of my AirPods connected by Bluetooth to the new Chromebook, 15.6 inch Acer. I am dictating into the Google Document blank form, after clicking on tools, on the top of the browser of the Untitled document blank form. Then I choose voice typing, and click on the microphone. This is very easy to do and then after I am done dictating, copy and then paste into the Amazing Chart user forum.

I am really impressed with how accurate this is, so I think I have found a very new and successful way of utilizing this new technology. I hope to hear back from the folks at Say It voice recognition, who have assured me that I should be able to use their application on the Chromebook. If so I think I have found a very accurate microphone that will be hands-free and it can be used with my Chromebook, and hopefully I can dictate into Amazing Charts. I will keep you all updated. However if this should work, this will be a much better solution than my Power Mike lll. grin

I just discovered that if you go to the settings section in the right lower corner of the Chromebook, at the bottom click on advanced, in the accessibility section click on manage manage accessibility features, under keyboard and text input, turn on enable dictation, speak-to-type. Then you can put the cursor in the actual box here on the Forum and dictate directly into rather than copy and paste.

It does not seem quite as smooth, and you have to keep your voice going or else the microphone turns off rather quickly compared to the copy and paste method in the Google Document blank form.

I think it will take a little bit of practice to get a bit better doing it this way rather than the copy and paste method, but I think with a little bit of time,it is trainable.
