I'm completely biased in my preference for a Macbook Pro. However, it has been much simpler since I put a small desk and desktop in each room. Dell has some CPU's now that are about 8" x 8" x 2". Laptops really aren't built durable enough to withstand carrying around day to day.

My 2 cents:
Buy the cheapest Dell Laptop as no matter what you buy, you will need upgrade in about 3 years. AC does not require a very high end PC or Laptop as a client computer. Check minimum specs on AC home page and stay above the minimum and you will be just fine - plus will save money.

What about running Dragon Medical on the computer, as far as memory is concerned?

I always use Lenovo X-series.
Built like tanks, last forever.
I get them used -- 3-4 years old off e-bay, very inexpensive, hardly ever have any problems.
Even the x-200's (from about 2006) are running just great, but the newest X-1carbon (I have 1st and 3rd generation -- the new ones are up to Gen 6 or 7) are really nice.
Have to be a little careful about screen resolution -- one of them is very high res and AC isn't built for that, so works best if you scale down to 1366/768.

Dragon works on all of them -- 2 Gig is enough memory, 4 is probably better. One of my machines has 16 Gig and it doesn't make any difference.
The microphones on the X-1 Carbon are so good that I have given up using the special mics i used to have to use with Dragon, and I just talk to the screen.

Ditto here.

Server power is more important than laptop. Any Client with 2GB or more of memory should be sufficient. Once we upgraded our server, and Internet connection, we observed marked improvement.

If you are seeing performance issue with a client, it must be a configuration issue with that client.

Thanks
