I've been offered a free install by AC of ver 10.1 (as in they will install it instead of me doing a self install)
Not sure what I did to deserve this and also a bit nervous as this is the latest latest (untested?) version. Its happening on 11/28, will report back after!

I was told by a tech on the 31st that 10.1 has dropped. We don't have anyone running it yet. YMMV

Just talked to tech for unconnected reason. Asked about 10.1. He said it had been out for about 2 weeks. He said since I have 10.02 there is no major change so I will stall and see how it goes for others before I jump.

An old software development term - back when release software actually had to be produced aka "Burned", they were then "Dropped" off at the shipper. The term also alludes to other aspects of the same process.
To the younger generation, it alludes to how in games, loot "drops" when certain events come about.
Just like medicine, there is a whole jargon sub-culture in the tech world.

We have had two clients who wanted to spin the wheel, so we are installing it in two practices tonight.
We will see.

Hi Dr Leeson,
Actually version 10.1 has a major change to it. We are introducing "Visit Templates" to this version. This allows you to have a single template that will fill in the entire note for you, instead of going to each field to select the template. This makes those standard visits like physicals much easier to document. Make sure you read the release notes as the workflow is laid out there. Let me know if you need them and I can get them to you.
We also have changed the way the patient list behaves on the main screen. The buttons below the patient list are gone and instead we have increased the functionality of right clicking on the patient's name on the list. This will give you all the same options you had with the buttons, plus more (your office staff will like the expanded print options here).

Mark.
Can I get release notes. Also can you say if you are able to see the note in its entirety as well. Or only able to use one template to populate the note, which in its self is an improvement but of limited value since over 50% of the time I tend to use my prior note as a stepping off point. I really do feel seeing the whole note at a glance is a big advantage in terms of time and effort issues. Also are they still Beta testing or can we now install the upgrade?
Thanks Dru

Hi Dru,
The Visit Template works just like other templates do, but it works over multiple fields. You can, however, select which fields it populates. It does not have to overwrite the whole note. You can have the template affect just the ROS, Assessment, and Plan sections for example. Or just do ROS and Physical Exam.. or any combination of fields. So in your situation where you are using the previous visit, it could still be useable.
As far as seeing the whole note at a glance, its a great recommendation. I would put that into recommended improvements (Help-Recommended Improvements from the main screen, for those of you who don't know where it is). As of right now the 2 ways to see the whole note is to A) use the "View Draft" button in the plan section (looks like a printed note, but you need to use the page buttons at the bottom to flip through) or B) use the Enlarge Textbox button and make that full screen (easier to flip though the fields and read them if there is a lot of text, but its click heavy) Both ways have their advantages and disadvantages.
Version 10.1 is no longer in beta, it is available for general release.

Hi guys, esp Mark@AC.
I've been using 10.1 for about a mo. I will have to check out the visit templates: that looks interesting.
One very annoying behavior of 10.1 is the way the main screen "refreshes". For example: lets say I open a chart sent to me by nurse and the msg it was sent in is deleted (there is a setting to automatically delete it when the chart is opened by the way): the text showing at the bottom of the main AC window still continues to show 'ghost' verbiage from the msg even though that msg is gone and a new one is now highlighted. Another annoyance is when searching for patients or for drugs in the script writer, if you pick one pt or one drug, all the others disappear... Otherwise, I have no complaints about 10.1

Well I have been using AC for 1 year after Soapware went bust. My objective/subjective assessment after 1 year. Way too many mouse clicks, and the whole process is too fragmented. My prayer to the EMR gods in the sky especially those of the AC sect please focus your mighty powers and insights to reducing the mouse click in the coming year. And all the faithful said Amen.
Dru.

I'm not seeing link to notes. Does this update include sending controlled substances on AC screen instead of Newcrop screen?

Support can give you the links for 10.1 if you want to update before i post them out there on the portal which will be soon. EPCS from within AC is on the roadmap for later this year, it's not in 10.1

Hi Mark@AC. Can you please send me a copy of the 10.1 release notes? Seeing that its MLK day, if there is anybody that has a copy and could send it to me today, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Wouldn't it make sense at this point to post the link so everyone has access?

Version 10.1 links and the release notes have been posted on the Client Portal for self-service. I'll be posting a message to the AC Inbox soon.
Take a look at the 2019 new features. I'd be interested to hear what you think.
