I was under the impression there was going to be a new version in August. Was I wrong?

The most current version of Amazing Charts is version 10.0.2. Amazing Charts 10.1 is currently in beta and is expected to have an October general release.

So I have a message I have to update to version 10 by October 1st - do I need to do that even though there's a new release coming up in October?

You will need to be atleast on version 10.0.1 by then as NewCrop and Surescripts will be updating the security for e-prescribing. If you aren't on a version of 10, you will not be able to e-prescribe any medications.

So the updated security for NewCrop and Surescripts starts Oct 1, assume those updates already tested with AC 10.0.1 ?

Yes, version 10.0.1 and higher are coded to work with the new security that will be rolling out and has been tested to work.

An updated message is going out this week, Newcrop has extended the deadline to EOY. Updox is also mandating the security updates by that time as well. The entire industry has been moving to this over the past couple years.
There is nothing in AC you will notice..it's all about low level security protocols...Read up on TLS1.2 if you want more info but it's mainly geek fodder. AC Version 9.4 and below support TLS 1.0 which is being deprecated.

Also...there is a new release 10.1 in beta. We hope for a October GA but it could turn into November.It's going very well so far but still too early too tell. We're not advocating to the masses that they wait for 10.1 as there's just not enough time to update everyone if they need our help. If you do your own updates then you can certainly wait for 10.1.
