I still struggle with having to use a a paper super bill at times with AC. It's good business practice to collect not only copay, but also co-insurance (say, 20% with some plans) at the time of checkout. Increasingly, patients have large deductibles and if you don't collect in full at the visit, you will get nothing from some percentage of your visits. This means knowing what level you will code and having the note signed off, which is still difficult.
AC has never had a good Superbill options. Yes, I use the Quick Codes, but that is cumbersome. I'm wondering if most of you in my position have gone to the PM software, and that has solved this, or if people still struggle with work arounds.

I still find it much quicker to use a paper superbill. Tick off the visit codes and pass it to my secretary to enter into our PM software. She enters codes while the patient is checking out, and collects the necessary amount in full.
We use a separate PM program, not ACPM. If does means entering patient demographics in two programs, but we don?t find that to be problematic. If you are looking for an option for PM, check out PracticeMate from OfficeAlly. PracticeMate is free, and you can submit through OA clearinghouse which is free or $20/month depending on claim composition.

Are you able to do your own billing without hiring a coder/biller?

We have heard Ezclaim is dropping support for Ezclaim advanced. We have used that product for 13 years. Are there any other users in the same boat. We currelty use OfficeAlly as clearing house and plan to use their PM (Practicemate). Any advice from users is appreciated!!
