I have been happily using Office Ally Practice Mate for years to submit my claims for free, and as my free PM system (Although it does create the burden of maintaining and updating two separate demographics databases, one for AC and one for OA - as we have not figured out how to export to OA from AC.) Anthem Blue Cross became non-participating in 2018, and now with Medicare and GEHA, I hit the 50% nonparticipating payer limit for the first time, and am incurring $20.00 mo Office Ally fee. May not seem like a lot, but just one of many increase expenditures in last 12 months. I'm about 35% Medicare, 13% Anthem, and 2% GEHA.

Any body have any other experience with free clearinghouses? I've heard PracticeSuite has a product, and Novitas "ABILITY | PC-ACE Free Medicare Billing Software" allows free Medicare submissions. Has anybody used them to report on the experience and staff burdens?

Thanks.

From what I've seen in the market, Office Ally is still the cheapest way to go - especially considering the cost of changing clearinghouses. You simply aren't going to beat $20/month.

We looked around last year when faced similar situation and OfficeAlly is worth the cost. Most of the free clearing house have minimal or no support.
