Thanks for your help in advance
Situsation:
Existing server is almost out of space, 20 GB left
AC Data is about 600MB, BUT imported items are not part of the backup, Imported items are now at 85GB
So making a backup with imported items is NOT Possible
I have moved servers before, but none this large, or with this issue
Also need a reply about AC charging for stuations like this, how much etc
Thanks

Copying Imported Items can be done as an OS-based directory copy.

What AV version? This is critical because it may REQUIRE AC be involved to "approve"/re-credential the new hardware. SO it HAS TO BE DONE while AC support is open.

Otherwise, moving servers is straightforward.

Most important consideration - virtualize the new server hardware before you actually install the AC "server" OS. CentOS or M$ virtualization.

Is everyone moving to virtualization now? What is the motivation for this? It looks like Praxis uses VMware only

I would virtualize the server. Use the free Microsoft P2V tool to convert the physical server to a virtual machine then expand the virtual drive. If you have an older server, this would be a FANTASTIC time to upgrade and get it all done in one fell swoop.

Boondoc,

I have been preaching virtualization for YEARS AND YEARS. Just for situations like this one. And also because disaster recovery is SO MUCH EASIER.

I consider it criminal to set up a new server as a bare metal install these days. CRIMINAL, I SAY!!
