Hi, Does anyone know if AC can electronically send Lab orders to Quest labs or other labs for that matter? It is just extra work to log onto Quest site to order a lab that I have already written in AC. I guess faxing the order to Quest would serve the purpose [print to my fax server]--how does everyone else do this? [ps not too interested in purchasing or learning how to use UpDox]. I do have the Quest interface in AC--so I can receive results of labs ordered at Quest.

Hi Doctor.
With version 9.3.1, we do now have a bi-directional interface with Quest Labs. Once initialized, there will be a "Quest Order Entry" button on your orders screen. This will allow you to export all the order information to Quest Care 360. You will still need to finalize the information in Quest, but it does save from re-typing all the information. You can email techsupport@amazingcharts.com for help on setting the interface up.

Mark is not exactly correct. There is a bug in Ver 9.3 in the Quest order entry button which no longer allows all demographic data to be brought over properly. I have addressed this with AC already and am waiting to hear if the bug has been fixed in 9.4.

Yes, it's still not as smooth as it sounds. Too many clicks

If you are not worried about reconciling, you can just print the order straight from AC and hand it to the patient to take to Quest. I've been doing this for over 5 years without any issues.
