It has come to our attention that an update recently released to Adobe reader DC has a ?Protected mode? turned on by default. This has been causing some clients to have issues viewing their imported items.

To correct and return Adobe back to its previously functioning state, the advance security function of "Protected Mode" will need to be disabled .

To disable this option, open Adobe Reader application from the start menu or by viewing any PDF document. Once opened, click on the edit menu on the upper left hand side of the screen and then click on ?Security (Enhanced)? towards the bottom of the list. Uncheck the Enable Protected Mode a startup setting. You will need to confirm by selecting yes. Finally select OK at the bottom to save the changes. You will likely need to close out of Reader for this change to take effect.

We corrected that and it still continues to freeze or shutdown

Seems like it has worsened.

We have 9.3.1

Unless you have a deep affection for the DC features, I recommend Adobe 11, Foxit, or one of the other open-source PDF readers
