That's it. I hate lawyers. I told my lawyer, "I despise lawyers." He said, "But, I am a lawyer, and I am on your side." "Yes, you are a lawyer, and I hate you too. You are part of the process."

Even my practice attorney who is awesome and I like, I sort of change my mind when I get the bill.

There should be a show like Boston Legal or The Practice, except with real lawyers. I mean episodes each week. Showing boring lawyers and boring cases. No William Shatners, etc. With closing arguments that last one hour.

Then, there could be the classic, where the lawyer hands you a paper x-ray and asks you to read it. It's like, dude, these are for giving to parents and patients, because they are "cool" and they have them for posterity. You don't read pneumonias from them.

You must be reacting to something, Bert -- I sort of remember a recent post where you were being harassed by attorneys in a case that you had nothing to do with.
The last time that happened to me was fairly recently -- I was told I had been subpoenaed and had to appear for a deposition.

I told them to come and get me when they were ready. It was supposed to have been within the week, and I am still waiting, now about two months on. They can put me in jail, but I'm not going willingly.

Me: "Yes."

LOL. Well, that should please your attorney who no doubtedly recommended to try to use yes or no answers.

I think I can clearly state that I hate them and the stupid law surrounding it More! I'm supposed to be going to trial finally for my Divorce with my intentionally Self Destructing Doctor Ex Spouse... She's got a USA Medical Degree and a USA Residency and a NYS License and after INTENTIONALLY Messing Up in her not really passive aggressive way, she voluntarily surrendered her DEA Certificate and immediately closed her Cash Only, Suboxone Only Practice... because as we all know she really doesn't want to actually work and have to see and care for patients... Poor little cash Dr with only 5 patients a day as $170 a drop minus a few bucks on a Urine Dip to screen them for Use and Abuse...

So, now after lying about leaving town to get my kids to come out and see her One Last Time to say goodbye, only to return less than two weeks later, Instead of staying in NJ with her Brother where there are TONS of Pharma Companies to work for to Detail docs and teach and supervise tons of BA Level Drug Reps, she's back up here in Upstate Central NY Driving a Cab, starving me out and refusing to compromise with the WORST, abusive divorce lawyer in the region bar none. No Compromises and take No Prisoners even, Saddam like Scorch Earth, Burn the Oil Wells Down like Client and Lawyer combined... The facts be damned, we'll create our own to fit our selfish needs and agendas. She wants to destroy me completely because she is at best a Borderline and now I am completely Black and Horrible and her "Winning" is all that matters regardless of what happens to our kids who refuse to live with her or see her anymore. OFF WITH HIS HEAD!

And the State of NY will almost certainly condone it all too. My lawyer said that bringing in actual journal articles by actual Doctors and PhD Psychologist to support my Gaslighting Destructive Abuse, basically stating supportable FACT is NOT acceptable in a court of law... Only Expert Testimony... and guess what, MOST of those people have no real credentials or special Anything that makes them any better than you or me at whatever... Just some Bozo who "Calls" himself an Expert and creates an LLC or LLP and probably used to work and might still work in the area of "Expertise" and they always give the report in the manner required of the client of the moment...

And NO Offense to any of you who don't want to get paid Bert's $2.75 to come testify for a suffering Medicaid Ped's Patient... I so totally get it folks, I really do as an ex Practice Manager of said Borderline Physician... Hey Bert did you frame that check or did you cash it to pay for a quarter of a breakfast at Denny's??? One Grand Slam Please Miss!

I almost certainly CAN'T get ANY MD Level doctor or PhD level Marriage and family Counselor Therapist to come and answer a Subpoena, so as to come and testify to my very well documented abuse and resulting PTSD at the hands of said Cheating with her Patient (who was the Husband and the father of 3 other active on panel patients too I might add), Abusive and Gaslighting Doctor Spouse to testify to the fact that such abuses and misconduct occurred at all. It's but a $50 fine but it costs real money to hire a process server and get issue the document just to almost certainly have those professionals cop out and not show and dare the court and the state to even issue the fine in question.

I'm sorry but we're talking mine and my children's every economic existence and survival here. In the economy up here even if I worked full time and did not do all the things I do for our kids to get to HS Ice Hockey Practices back and forth, games, no less multiple Mental Health Counseling Appointments with Counselors and Psychiatrists for our half broken down equally freaked out and abused kids, what could I actually hope to make out there in the Upstate NY barely moving along economy as a half broken down ex moving man and stagehand, worked for his crazy Ex practice manager but not a member of the Group Medical Practice Managers Assoc. and doesn't actually have any school based training expect to make right now? It's an Eff'ing offensive joke!

And the lawyers who rewrote the divorce laws to allow abusive cheating neglectful professional to simple walk away from their beat up and now starving spouses and families is likewise a joke! But of course what could we expect from such a group of Such FINE Upstanding, Never Cheat or do ANYTHING corrupt Legislators; Right? Newt and his band of double talking SOB's who cheat and cheat and cheat only to accuse others of doing the same and then divorce their spouse while in Hospital for Cancer Treatment are just such a great group of people to be writing and "reforming" our laws of any and all sorts, now right? They write themselves the Free Pass in these laws that they needed and wanted for themselves and their friends just like themselves...

Well, you all have a great day while I take lots of prednisone and other endocrine impacting steroids for my sure to be flairing up Ulcerate Colitis courtesy of my Ex Spouse of course... and quite possibly Benacar too for that matter... Stop Rx'ing those guys, there is a real link between Benacar and UC... No Joke. Major Lawsuits going on right now as we speak. Perhaps I could sue her on her old Med Mal plan for both being the original doc to put me on the stuff as well as my old Abusive Work Environment... Just thinking out loud... talk among yourselves.

To the Legal and Criminal Industrial Complex as well!!!

We do not know each other and I do not mean to be presumptuous, but.... your pain and anguish clearly comes through in your post. It is almost painful to read about what has happened to you and your family. You have my sympathy. Nonetheless, I think you are making a mistake from a legal standpoint posting this here. My guess is that if your lawyer were to see it, he/she would strongly urge you to take it down. Please reconsider posting it here, and talk to Bert if you would like it removed.

I was about to PM you with the same concern that Jon posted. While I can empathize with your situation, airing it here on the board while in the process of divorce is not ideal and I think your attorney would agree as well.

I could regale you with a hypothetical story of a Dr who doesn't pay her bill, or get her organization to pay the bill, then two years later sues me for a variety of things long after the instance is deleted ...... but of course, that would be just a hypothetical story.

Thanks so much for your thoughts and concerns... I've been so very upset and hurt, not just for me but as I said above, for my kids....

D-Day is tomorrow (Today at this point) and I nearly don't give a darn. It's my third D-Day of this nearly dead relationship. We in the Affair Recovery Support Circles call the day you discover your cheating spouse's affair your "D-Day"; discovery day. It's a day you'll Never, Ever Forget as you get a punch to the groin and your heart and soul torn out and served to you raw, bloody and in some form of Fib on a silver platter... It frequently inflicts a kind of trauma that meets the criteria of PTSD which is what happened to me... She already gave two of the affair cheating ones... The facts are the facts.

Best of luck. Sometimes that is what is required.
My ex and I managed to do it with a less traumatic process -- "mediation".
It was amusing (after the fact) that we each had a "mediator" and each had our own attorney.
Our mediators got into a huge fight, and ultimately we (my ex-and I) had to come together to mediate the mediators so we could get the thing over with.

Although not married, we remain very cordial.
