Is there a way to change the favorite prescriptions?
I made a mistake in writting the sig for one and I have been stuck having to change it every time I prescribe that prescription, which is often.
Is there a way to delete a favorite prescription?
Believe it or not, I make the same mistake 3 times for the same prescription, so now I have 3 prescriptions for the same meds with the same wrong sig. I would love to be able to edit the "favorites"

I haven't figured it out yet. I still have to work on the entire process. Probably need to read the release notes. But, I do know, it seems that pediatrics is always the step child in these things. Does it just add a med and sig automatically. Because in peds, you may use cefprozil 250 mg/5mL and more than ten will drop down, because the sigs are all so different.

I know this is kind of a side question along the lines of changing meds, but has anyone had an issue with medications disappearing from the Most Recent Encounter tab? We could see them listed in the signed off note, but when the doctor opened the MRE tab, they were all gone...Is this a common occurrence for others? The doctor indicated that this has only happened a few times and with no apparent pattern or reason for it.

confused

You mean they were no longer at the bottom left? I have not seen this. What version are you using?

@ Bert: Yes. From the bottom left they had disappeared. We are on version 9.1
He had to add them back in manually. He shouldn't have to add meds manually at every encounter, correct? They're supposed to carry over from visit to visit? Same with Allergies?

Hmmm....I would report that. Especially, since it is an actual release. I skipped to 9.2, which is a beta. I did play around with 9.1 in a virtual machine, but that's not quite the same.

I tried to reproduce the error. Just so everyone can help best, these are medications that he prescribed, correct? Not the ones that he may have entered when they transferred in?

He is also just using CTRL-N to get a new chart, correct? He is not using "a prior visit as a stepping off point for this visit." I never understood the value of that anyway, but I am sure it is useful for some or it would have gone away.

But, those meds should NOT go away. That would be a definite bug. And, the allergies certainly not. That's a bit of a medicolegal thing. Have you reported it?

Anyway, 9.2 is rather solid, and the 9.3 beta looks awesome. Quite a few improvements. I don't think they will be release too many more 9.x versions until MACRA and MIPS is done further destroying the healthcare landscape.

If this is happening all the time, I would just recommend making the leap to 9.2 or asking to be a beta tester on 9.3.

Thanks for your response, Bert. The medications in question are the ones the patient listed at their new patient appointment. I haven't reported the bug yet as I was wondering if anyone else had had this issue as well, perhaps that it was a known problem. I will send an email over to AC and let them know. smile

That's what I thought. Oh well. At least that is better than ones he put in. Sort of. There is likely to be a better reason that way.

I tried to reproduce the problem. Not sure if there is something he is not doing. I tried randomly.

I wonder if he is taking advantage of one of the things he can do. This is courtesy of Jon (JBS), so he could add more, and he may even be able to shed some light on this.

But, if a patient comes in with 20 meds, rather than write them all in one by one, he can open New Crop at the top left of the script writer and, hopefully all the meds with be there.

The only issue is JACHO rules. I guess one day everyone will have to write this way anyway.

You would click on ePrescribing on top left
Manage via New Crop screens
Select the drugs you wish to transfer to the chart or select the box at the top
Then choose Select
This is a good screen to make sure the sigs are correct, in other words, ml and not tsps and 100 Milliliters and not something not acceptable
You can edit from there
Take Complete Rx to Review Page
If it didn't like one or more, it will let you know
Click on Add to Current Meds

You could select transmit meds if you were doing EPCS or just want to send via eRx.

Hope this helps. Even if it doesn't fix your problem, it should be helpful. I will say that if you try to do one of the steps and jacho doesn't like it, it will tell you why. Then you can remember. And, change them right away like tsp to ml or have to have a number in dispense. I can't recall if it lets the others go through or not.

This was a brilliant idea by JBS. Especially, with those with 20 meds especially since they likely won't know them all of going through each bottle individually. Geeeez.

Of course, if they don't stay. I kept trying to see how well it would work but NewCrop seems to work in real time. I would go to NewCrop, and they were there. Inactivate or remove. But, then they were gone.

I'm a little frustrated with favorite prescriptions bringing up old ones that are non-codified. I don't know why it would do that in a new feature.

It seems that it is server-dependent and not computer dependent. This was vehemently brought up by the a few in the CAB meeting. They are working on it. It is actually more difficult than it is helpful.
