Hello All,
I'd like to add our practice logo in the header. Is this possible?
We have three locations. This would fit nicely in a footer although I don't see this option.

No. I wish it was.
At this time, I believe your only options are:
You can get pre-printed stationery (as I do) and uncheck the practice header before you print your letter.
OR
Type your letters in Word (assuming you have the means to insert your logo into a Word document), and then import that document into AC, after saving, which is pretty simple to do, but is not automatic...

Hi Brian,
I was planning on sending letters directly from AC to the referring doctor. Is this possible? What about sending copies to other physicians involved in the patient's care? Where is the option to send copies to them? I wasn't planning on printing to hard copy and faxing.
I can use the logo in Word. However, typing letters outside AC would just double the work.

I was planning on sending letters directly from AC to the referring doctor. Is this possible? It's absolutely possible, you just can't put your logo on it, without using the techniques I listed above. What about sending copies to other physicians involved in the patient's care? Where is the option to send copies to them? Right. You just have to pick the patient's name, right-click and pick out the Print Letters feature or whatever. You can create a practice rolodex and have the physician's name added to the letter automatically, and save it to AC when you're done.

You just have to type the "cc" into the main text box when you type your letter. The letter writer is one of the weak parts of the program, and you will just have to use some creativity to overcome your problems. I would say that fixing the letter writer is one of the top ten things Jon needs to do. Sorry!

Hi Brian,
Thank you for all your help with my obtuse posts.
I'm not sure I can use my creativity to put my cc list in the text box. This gets printed before the "Sincerly yours" and would look wrong.
I take it you export your text to another program? What do others do? I would think the need to send copies to multiple providers would be an everyday occurence.

Chuck: I don't mean to dominate the thread. I just hope one of my suggestions turns out to be helpful. Sometimes, I just use the crummy letter writer that comes with AC. I decided that it is good enough for some of my routine correspondence, with the default header, and sometimes I use it with some fancy letterhead I had printed when I started my practice. Sometimes I start a letter in the AC letter writer, copy and paste it into Word and finish it. Sometimes I just write the letter in Word. If you want to write your letter in Word, and you want to save a copy of your letter inside the patient's chart, just do this: - Save the letter to your desktop.
- Go to the Imported Items tab of the patient's Amazing Charts record.
- Drag the saved Word file icon, from the desktop onto the left side of the Imported Items page in Amazing Charts. You will see the file name appear in the list of saved documents.
- A copy of that file is now saved in the patient's Imported Items tab, permanently.

Chuck,
No offense, but some of this stuff you have to figure out with trial and error on your own. Part of goes with the low cost of AC is somewhat less functionality than what comes with an expensive yet bloated program. As Brian says, the letter writer does need some major work.
Having said that, inserting your Cc after your signature is simple. You click on Edit Sections, put the cursor after your name in the complimentary closing field, hit return twice and type in your Cc. Then save the format. I should warn you, though, that if you forget to remove it, it will stay there for the next letter and the next.... it can be embarrassing when you send a letter to an OB and copy it to a pediatrician. But, at least it's only the name unless your secretary is instructed to take the Cc as gospel.
Hope this helps.
