AAFP DID A BLITZ A FEW WEEKS AGO PROMOTING EPRESCRIBING. CMS INDICATED THAT FAXED RX WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED HIPAA COMPLIANT AFTER 12/30/08 SO I STARTED EPRESCRIBING ON THE FREE NEPSI WEBSITE.

THE FEE FOR INTERFACE ON THE NEPSI SITE IS $19.99/MONTH WHILE THE FEE FOR THE AC/NEW CROP IS $35.00- WHY IS IS SO MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE THROUGH ALLSCRIPTS?

WITH ALL THE EXPENSES OF STARTING A NEW PRACTICE I WOULD RATHER NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT IS AVAILABLE FREE OF CHARGE-
BECAUSE IT WOULD SAVE ME SO MUCH TIME HAVING TO ENTER EVERYTHING TWICE I WOULD LIKE TO GO AHEAD AND USE THE SERVICE THAT AC HAS A RELATIONSHIP WITH, BUT DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO PAY FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR. HOW ABOUT PRORATING OR MONTH TO MONTH?

IF YOU HAVE OTHER SUGGESTIONS, I WOULD APPRECIATE THE IDEAS

I would like to hear from those more knowledgeable than myself on this subject as well. I paid the fee for NewCrop and have come to understand that the Pharmacies control this software and it is not very easy to use, and it needs everything entered again for the patient, and when you are finished it syncs with AC with the future advantage that the other Dr.s (say Cardiology) will have those Rx's picked up by AC also. But for now, few are using it and it is not much of an advantage as far as I can see.

vroberts,

smile Welcome to AC. You should find a lot on ePrescribing all over the board. It's always good to bring it up again, though, as things change.

I hope you don't get offended, but would you mind not using all caps? It is very hard to read. Thanks. smile
