Does anyone else out there in AC land use a Class 4 laser in your office? We recently purchased one and now are trying to get our ducks in a row in regards to billing, charting and everything in between. We are doing treatments now on our patients pro bono because we have just gotten certified and are still working on techniques. The hard part is when we do start charging. We would appreciate any advice regarding this.
Thank You
Allison

A class 4 laser emits infrared light into the skin and down to the cellular level. It helps to fight inflammation and pain. It increases the blood circulation. It may also be used for smoking cessation. We are in South Carolina. There are not very many Family Practice physicians using this in their office but, dermatologist, chiropractors and Physical Therapy offices are using it. Shoot, even a local veterinarians office has one. It could destroy your enemies. If it made one look younger I would be using the thing on my face every day.

We became aware of it after referring our patients to a chiropractic doctor in our area. Our patients were coming to us with great results after having the laser treatment at the other office. My doctor looked into it and found that laser therapy of this type has been used in the European countries for years. The studies done over there of course are not accepted in the US and do not face as much scrutiny by the goverment. The studies have been done and are still being done in the US. There are no side effects. That is one of the great things about it. Professional athletes have had laser treatments used on them for years. Of course as with anything, it is also mind over matter and positive thinking. Newer injuries respond better and quicker than old ones to the therapy. It is actually very interesting to read up on it. We have a nurse in our office that had Plantar fasciitis with one of her feet. Her doctor put her in a boot and advised her that she would have to have surgery. She has had several treatments and now no boot no surgery. That really convinced us. NO it is not a tattoo removal laser. That is a different type of laser.
