Hi, new to the EMR. Quick question (likely many more) Is there a way to download patient Rx history from the Rx hub. I looked through the index and could not find it.
Any help would be appreciated.

THank you for your response, but how does one get to that screen? I've been able to get to where I can see what has been prescribed, but unable to click on anything that allows me to import it.

Does the patient need to have a RX by the requesting provider, as I am trying to import meds from new patients and nothing displays?

Dino,
If the patient has used their insurance before to fill an rx, you can pull up prescription history from the "Write Scripts" page. It doesn't matter who wrote the prescription. I believe this will be the same for importing drug history. I don't import the drug history but do use the "Drug History" link if patient's can't remember what meds or dosage they are on.

Marty,
I have been using your method the past year to view meds and, depending on insurances, it works.
Koby, I have trouble importing the meds from your tip.
It worked once but it imports the med name as "Alprazolam 1mg QHS", leaving the directions and quantity empty. Since then I receive errors when I want to erx ANY medication for that patient.
Other times, clicking the import button only adds those checked meds to a queue to be escribed form the newcrops screen, (which looks like a windows 3.1 display!)
Any tips?

This feature worked great in 6.3.3. You were able to import the medications from the view medication history.
Was much easier than above method (which I use successfully 60-70% of times) as long as insurance allows.
Wish AC can revert this back to how it was in 6.3.3 as it was so much easier than managing via new crop screen

Hi, I'm new to AC and have so many questions. I'm trying to follow your instructions for rx history import. After I click on Eprescribing in upper left, I get a popup stating AC cannot continue to Eprescribing until the following errors are fixed:
Rx's dispense must be a number greater than 0 and contain 10 digits or fewer. Please correct before continuing.
When our pt data was dumped/transferred into AC, the prescriptions transferred over in italics with a dispense qty of 1 with 0 refills. I wonder if this is where the problem is. Allergies transferred/dumped over in italics as well. For those, I have to manually retype the allergies to show up in standard font. Any easy fix to updating or changing these precriptions and allergies?
Thanks for your help.

I get a popup stating AC cannot continue to Eprescribing until the following errors are fixed:
Rx's dispense must be a number greater than 0 and contain 10 digits or fewer. Please correct before continuing. This is a common problem and sometimes even when the correct number was previously entered. You just need to look at the number of refills listed prior to eRxing, and this won't pop up When our pt data was dumped/transferred into AC, the prescriptions transferred over in italics with a dispense qty of 1 with 0 refills. I wonder if this is where the problem is. Allergies transferred/dumped over in italics as well. For those, I have to manually retype the allergies to show up in standard font. Any easy fix to updating or changing these precriptions and allergies? Things in italics are NOT in the formulary. This can happen because the formulary changed or because they were never in the formulary in that form (i.e transferred in) If you right click on the name in the Left hand column (current medications), you can CODIFY the single Rx or all that are similar (it will give you a choice.) By choosing all you can knock out your top Rxs that were transferred and they will not show up again. As to the number dispensed and refills, you need to initially pay attention although once you have been doing this for a while the default numbers will be based on your prior Rxs and have your common replys (disp 30 with 3 refills, for example)

While I am on the subject of teaching, discount tickets to the AC national users conference in Orlando will be ending on February 1. This will be an excellent opportunity to get all your questions answered, some of your griefs vented (you don't really want to stay all weekend venting. do you ) and learn what AC has up it's collective sleeves for the future. I am always amazed what I learn at the ACUC, it's been a while since we had a national conference. The regional ones are good, but try imagining expanding the options when you have more users and more staff. I hope and truly believe a good time will be had by all (or mostly all, there are always some folks who can never be satisfied.)

Thank you! Clicking codify prompted me to choose the correct medication from a list options. After choosing correct med/dose, it changed the medication listed to bold. However, the sig info (in italics)was deleted. Is there a way to transfer sig info without having to retype it?
If that's the case, would it be best to leave medications list in italics until patient is needing medication refilled? Ideally, I'd like to codify complete med list at time of visit, but it would be very time consuming to add the sig manually.

However, the sig info (in italics)was deleted. Is there a way to transfer sig info without having to retype it? Probably not the first time. If you have a prior sig from another patient it might (I don't do it often enough to remember) but after entering the sig the next time, it will pop up in the future (there are some exciting improvements to this in V9, you'll be hearing about soon) If that's the case, would it be best to leave medications list in italics until patient is needing medication refilled? Ideally, I'd like to codify complete med list at time of visit, but it would be very time consuming to add the sig manually. You can leave them un-codified. The advantage of "codification" is that it will go through the eRx system. Some will be corrected by you changing another patient and having it to "Apply to all patients on this exact same med/dose"
