when finishing an encounter and billing the patient, it defaults to ICD-9 with an option of billing to ICD-10. Is there a way of setting the default to ICD-10 or will this automatically occur on October 1st?

You must not have read my question on "Still deciding 8.2.4, etc." LOL

I can't think of anything more ironic than to install software only because it is ICD-10 ready, yet it defaults to ICD-9. Maybe it has a timer in it that detects October 1, 2015. God, I hope you can, because there are two places you have to change it to ICD-10.

If not, it will need to be fixed in a new version. I would really hate to install it again.

IIRC, I saw word from one of the AC people that it will sense the calendar flip and go ICD10. There was an admin setting if you wanted to go earlier.

Wow, this is pretty cool. It's like Y2K. It's great, except mine set to ICD-8.

Kudos to Amazing Charts. I am impressed. All the ICD-9s are ICD-10s. Well, not all but most. Some are too ambiguous in ICD-9.

Unfortunately, when an immunization is given it is putting in ICD-9 codes for the diagnosis for some reason. No big deal. Will need to be fixed in an update.

I have to compliment both AC and our own Indy for the smooth transition to ICD-10. All the codes are automatically populating, and I don't see many that have to be drilled down. I'm very impressed that this has gone so smoothly!

I have to say, such a relief to lose some of the V6 problems: a pharmacy list that looks like metoPROLol and a spell checker that flagged these as mis-spelled, had a preference to turn off MIS_matched cases, but a bug that did not allow it to be turned off! Maddening, but it's gone! Replaced by spell check as you type! A wish come true! Also, I do my own coding, and the MODIFIERS (-25 -QW) were all jumbled in the drop menu, and a PAIN to search out. All this has been fixed. Thanks AC, I waited too long to upgrade. (Forced by ICD-10). Everyone was concerned about speed, but with my new 'server' computer (i7 chip), it's just slightly slower on 8.2.5 (Thanks Indy)

I think it may be a good idea to ask all of the ICD-10 questions in one thread. I posted under Catherine Lehmann's Post at:

http://amazingcharts.com/ub/ubbthreads.php/topics/67190#Post67065

This may allow us to develop our own FAQs, and allow her to answer questions when she can. Obviously, there will be some threads that are very specific. I don't think I have ever tried anything like this. But, I don't think we have had to adjust to anythinig so confusing before. At least it is confusing for me.
