Some of the speeds in the Shout Box for opening charts and eRx sound extremely high even for 8.2 standards.

As a general rule, wireless will always be slower than wired. But, for v 8.2 and above, it is essential to have a wired network. At least for those reporting extreme performance issues.

Or use Terminal Server/RDP. For some practices, it is the more practical approach depending on your layout (type of wall, renting, laptops vs desktops.)

Hi Sandeep,

Great to see all your recent posts!

I am one of the dinosaurs, using wireless laptops with AC 6.3.3. This actually has been doing extremely well, speed and reliability excellent.

If AC 8.2.x is significantly slower on the wireless laptops, use of Terminal Server would be my first alternative.

What would be minimum laptop specs to work "fast enough" as a Terminal Server? (Processor and memory??) Would an SSD be significantly faster as well?

Thanks for everything!

Hello!

Good to be back. We've finally completed our pre-orders for the new line of Medical Servers so I have a bit of free time now to post.

If you a free desktop, you can always RDP into that instead of setting up a terminal server. It's pretty common for people to have both laptops and desktops.

Almost anything will do. You're basically just sending screen updates back and forth. There is no data processing involved. Just make sure the screen size and resolution are good enough for you. SSD won't make a difference.
