Bert asked this question recently in an ongoing thread that I have been following with great interest. He does, however, ask a legitimate question: Where have I been?

The last 10 months have been interesting to say the least. Here is a recap in as few words as possible:

* My sister passed away 4 days before her 39th birthday in June, 2014.

* After 10 years of service, I left Professional Data Management, Inc., the billing center I used to work for, and began work at the Corning Fiber Optics facility here in Wilmington as a Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse Developer.

* The last three months of 2014 and the first two months of 2015 were spent with the shingles covering the entire right side of my face. Since this forum is crawling with doctors, I shouldn't have to say anything more save that I don't care how many small animals you have to sacrifice, and I don't care what dark alter you sacrifice them on, whatever you do, do NOT get the shingles.

* I changed jobs again last month. I now work as an Infrastructure, Development, and Data engineer at General Electric. I now help build systems to monitor nuclear reactors.

As everyone can see, it's been a busy past 10 or so months. However, once I get settled in at GE a bit more, I'll be around again. I've already started posting again on my blog at www.jamessummerlin.com. I've also recently installed three Dell R710 rack mount servers in my house for my private test lab. Once they are done with their current task, which should be soon, I should have something to say about AC's unfortunate performance issues.

Thank you all for you patience. I'll be back.

Sorry about your loss, one wonders how much the emotional strain suppressed your immune function leading to 1/2 a year of being 'slapped' in the face constantly.
Will anxiously await your input on AC performance
Enjoy your springtime rides

Hi James,

You may need to change doctors....

Seriously, sorry for your loss. Sounds like life was out of control for a while, hope you can reign it back in!

We always appreciate your insights and comments.

So how much do you have invested in your test lab?

Thanks

Gene

I also echo the sentiments about your sister. As far as the shingles go, I just recently got the vaccine, but it is only FDA approved (as far as I know --- I am a pediatrician) for 50 and up.

I am sure it is safe in 30 year olds, but the CDC recommends vaccines based on risk/benefit and when it does the greatest good. So, they aren't going to recommend a vaccine for someone with a chance of 1:1000 with documented Varicella disease in the past compared to a much higher risk in 50s and 60s. But, it does excist, and I am sure 30 year olds could get it, but it won't be in MU.

Your pictures are awesome.

Fyi: You need to wait one year after shingles heal before considering the vaccine.

That's good to know.

Just to be clear, I was referring to getting it prior. I know it isn't recommended for 30 year olds, but I don't know why it would be contraindicated.

@Sandeep: Thank you very much.

@Bert: I'm 41, but still too young for the shingles vac.

Very cool setup. But what do you use for sound?

Did you switch from the MS natural to the sculpt?

My sympathies for the past year, but it seems things are moving up.
Glad to see you've not only survived but are starting to thrive.
