Any opinions? We're currently on 7.1.3.
8.02 brings some nice features, but doesn't seem to be a necessary upgrade with 8.2 reportedly being released in the next couple of weeks. Or should I not believe the release date of 8.2 and upgrade to 8.02 now and then 8.2 in May or June?

8.0.2 adds a number of good features, including fixing the spell checker.
That said, doing 2 updates in 2 months can be a bit of a bear.
Might be worth playing with in a sandbox, and if you feel the new features are worth an upgrade, go for it. For ICD10 and long term issues, you are OK in waiting until 8.2. If 7.1.3 has been working well, and you don't feel the new features are worth it, don't jump.
I am on 8.0.2, but I am have been working with betas for a low time. It's very stable, but you will need to go to 8.2 in the long run.

Luckily updates are pretty painless in a small office.
I went ahead and upgraded because we wanted a couple of the new features (multiple preferred pharmacies, spellcheck as you type).
I was disappointed to find that the option for "starts with" or "contains" when searching for meds was limited to the prescription writer only; I wish it had been including in the current medication list. I can't tell you how tired I am of scrolling through all the entries for esomeprazole when I type omeprazole.
We are also experiencing significant performance issues. Opening a chart, closing a chart, or saving it to an inbox is taking an significantly longer time than with 7.1.3. I've timed it and it can take up to 10s for a chart to close and return me to the main program screen. Hopefully this will be fixed in 8.2.

Here is some info I have heard. Part of the delay in opening (I wasn't as aware as closing which makes less sense) is that 8.0.2 was engineered so that it would "cache" or bring up everything in a person's chart such as past encounters so it would be quicker to use. But, it is this same function that can make a patient's chart take longer to load. This can't be fixed in 8.0.2, but hopefully will be in 8.2. They are aware of the issue.

10 seconds to close a chart not acceptable. If one closes 100 charts in a day thats another 15 minutes in the day multiplied by number of users.

10 -11 secs to open a chart, 5 secs to close if no entry and x out after looking up something, 11 secs to close if have to sign off something, then there is my 'favorite' going into the demographics tab suggest we all keep putting this as an URGENT fix request to AC

Any chance that the delay closing has something to do with "information gathering" by PriMed?

There is 0% chance that info gathering by PriMed or anyone is causing slowness issues.

Because data mining is done behind the scenes. It is done directly via SQL. SQL can certainly handle data mining.
If it were the case, and it is not, it would not be happening all the time. If you really want to know, opt out via your EULA agreement. On page 6. As Jon shown.
But, that is not the case.

Just a couple. But, I am a beta tester for NSA. And, so far it has only slowed me down 0.008 ms.

But, I am a beta tester for NSA. And if you say anything else your network will self-destruct??? And you and your identity will be erased, so it would be as if you never existed??? Gene
