For some reason, I can no longer read .tif files on my computer, which is our main computer on our peer-to-peer network. No problems on the other computers on our system.

I realize this may not be an AC issue, but does anyone of have any ideas?

I can't read my .tif files through Amazingcharts. It gives an error message. I wonder if AC comes with a program that switches off reading of tif files when you don't subscribe to them.

If you can't read any tif files, this may be due to you updating to MS OFFICE 2007. MS OFFICE 2007 installation by defaults deactivates MDI. If that is the case, then you will need to reinstall MS OFFICE and check the box that will put in MDI (Microsoft Document Imaging). MS wants to use a newer tif formatting file (which I find cumbersome to use and does not play well other tif version---i.e. you will need to install MS OFFICE 2007 in ALL OF YOUR COMPUTERS on the network and with other systems you interact outside of your network). Just another way to get you to cough up more of your hard earned dollars.

Nice to see you again. I know very little about tiff files, but don't know need a reader just like any other document format? Maybe you had a tiff file reader, and it got uninstalled or a file became corrupted. I'm not sure. The link above has a list of tiff file readers. I could be completely off base.

Guys, you can use Window's Paint program to read TIF files. What may have happened is that the pointer to the program that reads TIF files may have been changed. Here's a fix in WinXP:

Start-> Control Panel-> Folder Options-> File Types-> select "TIF"

In my laptop, the program that is chosen to open TIF files is the "Microsoft Office Document Imaging File". Other programs that you can use include Microsoft Office Picture Manager, Windows Paint, and Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. In my laptop I also have SnagIt Studio and Dreamweaver.
