Hi everybody, Anthem BCBS are starting Paladina clinics for primary care in our area - they are hiring their owns docs and patients can see them for $ 0 copay whereas if they saw their current PCP they would have to pay at least $ 30. This seems like a raw deal for PCPs as they may lose many patients. At least 2 big employers are already on board . Wonder what other users think about this. No word yet about how they will handle specialists Bala

I am sure they aren't staffing with "docs", more likely mids. Point to be made with any local media, letter to the editor...

I agree with Jon, they will be heavy on midlevels.
But, I remember somewhere in the back of my mind that it was not "legal" to discount copays or deductibles. I do not remember the specifics, but this may cause them problems.

The patient's expectation is that you have all the answers, sometimes they just don't like the answer you have for them

Hmmmm....Once again I recall having predicted this many years ago.
Leslie Hospital Employed Physician Who Misses The Old AC
"It's a good thing for a doctor to have prematurely grey hair and itching piles. It makes him appear to know more than he does and gives him an expression of concern which the patient interprets as being on his behalf. "
