Please help we are needing to get a new billing software etc to bring in house who do you recommend?
I can't wait until A/c is up and my current company won't let me renew unless we sign a 1 yr contract.

I use Medisoft. It's basic, solid, gets the job done, and is inexpensive.
But for me there are a number of advantages to switching to ACPM and I'm in the process of setting that up--an 8 week process. No matter what billing software you choose it will take a while to get up and running. To bad your current company won't keep you on for a couple of months. Sounds like they've got you over a barrel on that one.

Talk to AC and look at their new product. I think they are up and running now. If not, you could go with MedFX and switch to AC once they are up and running.
AC bought the MedFX program and apparently has tweaked it to make it run better and be somewhat more AC-like (less "F keys")
I went with MedFX this fall and it is working well.

They (MedFX) normally request a 1-2 year contract but agreed to turn people over to AC when AC's ready to take them on. I will be switching soon, I hope. MedFX charges, I think $299 and AC $249 (and requires a 1 year contract)

It seems like a comprehensive solution. It is in the cloud, not server based.

MedFX does have a server based program, that is apparently similar to the online product, but I do not know a lot more about it (like cost and maintenance and such)

Thanks! We are most likely going with EZclaim with Gateway/Trizetto for clearing house. Both together are cheaper than AC which I am on a wait list for.

Ez-claim is 49$ for their cloud and gateway/ Trizetto is $89.00 - which i guess we need both - both allow month to month contracts.

That solution would make sense.

I did try EZ-Claim some time ago. I had a clearinghouse problem with Office Ally and IL medicaid, both blaming the other and no money coming. I then changed to an outside company.

EZ claim is good for basic billing but is not as complete as most billing software. Not knocking it, it does work, and I think can be integrated to Quickbooks which will make it more complete.

That package is $100 less per month and no 1 year contract, but you probably get a lot less training. This (training aspect) may be what is slowing AC down.

We cannot go with AC practice management solution because we cannot rely on a cloud based solution. We lose our power too much. I have trouble with my epocrates. We are trying Total MD which is probably not going to be perfect but a more affordable solution for rural solo FP.

Medware (now Sage Medware) has been good and very inexpensive-- been using since 1995.
Supposedly there is a link of some sort available for AmazingCharts, but we just keep things simple and run two standalone programs.

We have been using EZ Claim Premier, with ZirMed as claims clearinghouse. They work well together, and it is especially nice having single entry into Amazing Charts with all of the information (except method of payment: cash, checks, visa, MasterCard) flow into EZ Claim. Electronic electronic remittance information flows back and forth between EZ claim Premier, ZirMed, the payors, and back through again. There is even insurance verification available. I have not heard of any hiccups in the systems or their integration from my biller. Haven't had to contact tech support since the installs.

So AC PM is cloud based? I did not know that. That rules it out for me, unfortunately. I wonder why they decided to make it that way... I do not trust the cloud. I like to have control over my data.

We just bought Total MD. We are not exactly sure how we feel about it yet. We have a 30 day money back guarantee. We tried to get started in early November but really only got the thing up and going 10 days ago. Will see. It looks like it will meet our needs right. Charlie Schatner helped us get though the frustrating AC phone tree.
