I have recently discovered the excellent features of the letter writer in AC. For eg: letter to power company in a few clicks and the letter gets saved to patient's chart without having to scan it in. I have created another template for the patient or parent to sign that they agree to pay charges for vision not covered by insurance. How do get them to sign the letter? I cannot find a free hand drawing tool on the letter writer. Just getting them to type in their initials it does not seem adequate as they could deny they ever signed it.

There are some pads that will allow you to input data (signatures) and use a PDF modifying software, but this is one where it is simpler to print, sign and scan back in the chart.

The patient's expectation is that you have all the answers, sometimes they just don't like the answer you have for them

You can type the letter in Paint or OneNote, then sign and get the patient to sign (assuming you have a tablet computer of some kind (like my trusty Lenovo X2xxT ), then print it to UpDox as a PDF -- and send it to the patient chart as an imported item.
