Hi All,
So, with the new letter writer, we have noticed something strange... I hope I can explain this: Let's say there's a bunch of text pulled into the letter already. Then if we want to try and delete a small portion of text, we click and drag the mouse over the text we want to delete, and all of a sudden the ENTIRE letter is selected to be deleted. Sometimes we've had to just hit back space a bunch of times to delete it rather than risk deleting the whole letter. IS THIS SOME KIND OF SETTING THAT CAN BE TURNED OFF? It's really annoying.
Thanks!
~ Samantha

I have the same problem, but I try not to use the letter writer as I get too angry about it. Just use Word and then copy and paste the text.
We can't print from AC running on local machines. It gets an "out of memory" error.
But the part that makes me really angry is that way back in 2008 I started complaining that you cannot have a system that generates medical documents without 2 and preferably 3 identifiers ON EVERY PAGE. Patient name, DOB and hopefully the AC chart number.
That is all I ever really wanted from the letter writer. Now we have this albatross, that won't let you use the old letter writer, is WAY TO HARD to make a template on the fly and still prints pre-operative H&P's with no ID on the second and later pages. I hand write them. It looks really amateur. No,.. it IS really amateur.
Sorry for the rant, but no one seems to be listening.

I just read the tone of my rant and I didn't mean to sound like that. Now I am dreading the next post which will be Bert or JB telling me how to set the letter writer so it does number and ID the pages. I am not even sure what crow tastes like, but I doubt I will like it!

Not logged in a LW system at the moment, but have you looked through the values that you can pull in from the field values available? If you're willing to come down and join us around the gas firepit for a night, I'll remote in and take a look.

Some day we will upgrade to 6.6.x. When I do, I will spend more time on the letter writer. Till then, I don't know the answer to your question, Martin. Will let you know.... Meanwhile maybe others will weigh in.

JB = JBS and the 'S' key is a little sticky.
