I just did a webinar on MU Stage 1 (year 2 for me).
They emphasized very strongly that your EMR needs to be certified for 2014 in order to be able to successfully do MU in 2014.
And they implied that a lot of EMR's aren't, yet.
When I went to a website that lists the certification,

it looked like AC was ok for 2011 but not 2014.

Anyone know anything about this?

On the brighter side, it looks like if you are certifying for Stage 1, year 2 in 2014, you will only need to do a calendar quarter, not a whole year.

Dear Michael,
I just attested for MU stage 1, year 3 for 2013 .
You do have to submit 1 years worth of data for years 2 and 3.
I used version 6.3.3 , 2011 edition and there was no problem with attestation. Amazing charts verified that this was the correct edition to use.
I think that what the webinar may have alluded to was that to do stage 2, you need only 3 months of data for 2014 and that AC needs to be certified for stage 2 which it is currently not to my knowledge.
but AC has said that they will be by Oct.

The webinar was only about stage 1.

They emphasized changes new to 2014.

From the following cms page (applies to all stages, not just stage 2) at http://www.cms.gov/Regulations-and-Guidance/Legislation/EHRIncentivePrograms/Stage_2.html

"For 2014 only, all providers regardless of their stage of meaningful use are only required to demonstrate meaningful use for a 3-month EHR reporting period. For Medicare providers, this 3-month reporting period is fixed to the quarter of either the fiscal (for eligible hospitals and CAHs) or calendar (for EPs) year in order to align with existing CMS quality measurement programs, such as the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) and Hospital Inpatient Quality..."

And, again, they said that in 2014 your EHR needs to be 2014 certified (not just stage 2)

Emailed support at AC.
They answered that, as of now, AC is supposed to be MU certified for 2014 in April.

Will this be a new version?
